I'm coming back to this video to make a comment so you can give me an update on your hardy elephant ears! I was too nervous about my zone 5b, so I gave mine to a family member who lives on the other side of the state whose zone is more like 6b-7a. He planted them in his yard last Fall. He said it took a while for them to show up but they are alive.

I agree with you, I'd rather have a plant in that size pot for numerous reasons. Less expensive, smaller hole to dig and to be honest a lot of times the larger pots are just more soil and do not equate to a larger plant. I love the markdown racks and haven't been at all this year. I've tried to scale back. Although today I did visit a local nursery that has all their annuals 50% off. Some things I just cannot resist!

I just reused 3 Agua frescas cups from our local taco truck for tomatoe clone pots!

The english ivy has gotten so bad in my area that it's killing off trees. I'd go out and help out with the efforts to remove it, but I'm fighting it (and wisteria still) on my own property. Thanks for the potato tip! I'm not growing them this year, but I'll remember that for next year.

Hey, I know I am late to this video but I do have a question if you see this. I see what looks like a small little bloom on your 2nd Nikko. It is small. Does that ultimately turn a different color, and is this the starting phase of it? Or does it stay yellow like what we see in this video? Thank you for any input you can give. Hope your Nikkos are doing ok.

I’ve had three wood ticks embedded on me this year, two of them I got out pretty nicely the third left a decent sized bruise on my leg for DAYS, it’s still not COMPLETELY healed and it still itches and it’s been weeks. I don’t know if its related or not but I’ve had a foul taste in my mouth also for weeks and I don’t know what it’s from ? Now I spray myself down throughly even if I’m not working in a grassy area. Those tick bites for me DON’T heal quickly. I’ve been spraying for ticks but I don’t think the spray that I used is a long term solution so I’m going to try another spray my son-in-law recommended 🤞🏻💐💚🙃

Lol, here in colorado we have heards of dear, we plant flowers they dont like. You should try it. Our veggies all get grown in areas with 7ft fencing protecting it. Also we plant plots for the deer to eat, keeps them away from the temptations of my garden. Yep lot a work if you have a green thumb, lol, just think the deer are happy.😂

Fantastic video as always! I always shop Lowe's clearance. I bought 3 nice Bird of Paradise that are white. I've never seen a white one before. 2 are potted outside, and one inside. They seem to be fast growers! Such good deals there. Love how your love of gardening shines through!

You can take cuttings from impatiens and grow them on that way. You may not want to mess around with them through the winter though ? Probably easier than from seed. I LOVE impatiens ❤️💐💚🙃

I put my papyrus in a bigger pot with stones on top so it sinks in my pond. This has worked well for me.
